I'm starting to remember a few things that came up that I ignored clearly. In Nov of 2011, I ran a 5K as hard as I could, then ran six miles the next day, then actually attempted to race a half marathon the next day. Needless to say, 4 miles I in I fell apart and barely finished. I didn't cut back my running, I just continued piling it on. 5 weeks later after never resting, I ran a 5K as hard as I could and 1/2 mile from the finish line, my legs went dead, completely. I have never experienced the fatigue in them like I did that day. I was going to beat my best time too until they died. I ran way too many races, tempo runs, and my easy days too hard. I was just a recreational runner who fell in love in racing and didn't have a good plan!
