This could be big. Likely it's one of Sherone Simpson, Kerron Stewart, Shelly Ann Fraser, Veronica Campbell Brown, Schillione Calvert who's about to go down. http://jamaica-gleaner.com/latest/article.php?id=45731

Notably the test wasn't carried out by Jamaica's people, but the IAAF.
sacrificial lamb to keep the dogs at bay

No country is sacrificing anyone, it's WADA's testing.
"Who knows how far the rot has gone, or if they can recover. If they can, they will likely offer up a sacrifice in so doing--if not, look forward to some fireworks."

Here comes the sacrifice that is designed to permit the rest of them to continue to close ranks.
If it is a good enough sacrifice, equilibrium will be maintained and their program will retain its integrity.
Too bad, I was looking forward to some real fireworks.
They might still happen, if this athlete gets treated too harshly, if their career is still promising, or if they haven't gotten enough out of the system to make it worth their while.
Here's to hoping.
the heck is wrong with you conspiracy theorists?
So you can predict that "a sacrifice will be made", and then if anyone ever tests positive, that's validation for your prediction?
First of all, the sacrifice has not yet been made--all that has happened is that a positive test result has been announced.
There is a lot of distance between an positive result, and a sacrifice. The announcement of a name, and the imposition of a ban, will be the sacrifice--and yes, given the perfect timing of this relative to the date of my prediction and the evolution of the outdoor sprint season, that would be validation.
Similarly, if there is no name or ban, the prediction will not be validated. It's not a win-win scenario, as you are trying to make it out to be.
So far, things are looking promising, and proceeding how I thought they would.
Also, my prediction had more than one result--a sacrifice, and the sustained integrity of the program if the sacrifice is good enough.
If it happens, I will opine on whether I think it is good enough or not. I suspect that it will be, and that the program will be fine--but that, too, is subject to the further evolution of the 2013 sprint season.
Jamaican Olympic team will come out someday just like the east germans and chinese....no one is clean!...
Some people who I believe to be credible seem to indicate that it is a fairly big name athlete, and that it will represent a real blow to Jamaica.
Tyson Gay no individual medal, no gold
Wallace Spearmon no medal at all
Allyson Felix 2 Silvers at 2 Olympics
Sanya Richards Silver in 08 behind a Jamaican and test dodger
Lashinda Demus Silver
Leo Manzano Silver
Matt Centrowitz no medal at all
US mens 4x100 relay team no Gold
Alysia Montano no medal behind two men and two Russians
Look at all our athletes who lost medals, and undoubtedly tons of Money. How much did this cost Allyson in endorsements? Imagine if she had been a Gold medalist since 04.
And now, Manzano and Montano aren't even sponsored. Almost as if they don't exist.
Disgusting.
And Bolt runs around like a jive monkey.
For those of you who don't know,
http://rjrnewsonline.com/sports/dominique-blake-gets-6-year-ban
6-year ban, methylhexaneamine at last year's JAAA nationals
Second offense.
BTW, that's a different case than this new one.
Plus, it's not necessarily an Olympic "medalist".
So sick of this wrote: Look at all our athletes who lost medals, and undoubtedly tons of Money. How much did this cost Allyson in endorsements? Imagine if she had been a Gold medalist since 04.
Your assumption is "our" athletes are the only clean ones. Everyone else's athletes must be dirty.
I didn't include Gatlin, or Merritt or Jeter.
I made a LEGIT list. Notice I didn't include Barret the high jumper either because Chicherova is likely clean.
I didn't just cherry pick silver medalists from the Olympics, these are athletes with legit gripes who have lost medals AND money probably because other athletes were doped.
How in the world do you assume Tyson Gay is clean?
People have been so sick of American cheaters for years.
Definitely the biggest druggies in the world.
Are you kidding me?
Tyson Gay is clean. I would say he's the most gifted natural sprinter thats ever lived.
He's been hurt a lot, which makes sense for someone that isn't getting an HGH boost every training session. He has high natural turnover which he exhibited in highschool and his early years of college when it was very unlikely he'd be using something.
Tyson is clean and always has been. He's over 30 now and still running well, the hallmark of a NATURALLY gifted sprinter.
Notice how Bolt said he's done after 30. WONDER WHY? Guess all those hard years of training will be just too much to continue on.
And if you're going to say well what about Gatlin, Gatlin had 4 years completely off, no high speed training to destroy his legs. Just rest. And now he's running because he has to financially, which is why he'd be running in Rabat anyways.
I care less about who is busted than *what* they have been busted for. biopassport anomaly? known drug? masking agent? something new?
