I am sure this is a frequently asked question, but this is something I am always wondering about. I just finished 8th grade with a 17:36 5k PR on a road race, 5:06 in the 1600 where there were 30mph winds and rain. I have been running for 1.5 years now. What can I run in my junior/senior year? I am currently training 35-45 miles a week mostly tempos and long runs. I also bike three times a week (60-90 miles) and swim 4000 yards a week. If I devote myself to running could I break 15:00? I have no idea I would like to see what a realistic goal would be.
