This has been proven and demonstrated time, after time, after time.
Everyone else is like: "yeah um the race was great, i'm thankful for my sponsors, and training is great um okay yeah thanks guys okay"

No it doesn't mean he is smarter, it just means he's analytical and a "headcase"
Well, actually, Chris Derrick is by far the most intelligent of the elite distance runners and gives the funniest and most interesting interviews.
That's a fact.

No, it's Erica Moore.
Webb can speak fairly well, probably the most articulate distance athlete.
Ummm...ever heard of Lauren Fleshman?

Lagat is great in interviews.

Ritz gave a great interview after the Pre 5000m.
It's easy to give a good interview when everything is going right but to give an insightful interview after a bad race and not just complain is key.
Webb has got good at that but kind of in a sad way, since reality has set in and he knows he isn't his former self.
Will Lear is awful. I want to like the guy, he has a lot of passion but even when he runs great he makes excuses after excuses and sometime calls himself out on it during the interview then keeps going.
Same with Levins, he runs a PR at pre on a warm windy day and complains like it is the end of the world.
Rupp is alright in his interviews but you can tell he is uncomfortable talking, does his little shoulder shrug thing and a lot of nervous laughs. People seem to ask him the dumbest and most irrelevant questions too.
