I'm trying to get in cycling shape and don't have time to bike on the weekdays. Can I get in cycling shape by running? I've heard stories of runners with no training dominating cyclists in cycling races.
I always thought runners and cyclists were physiologically similar until I saw the end of the stage of the Tour de California this year that ended at the top of Mt Diablo. The top climbers who were finishing first had HUGE legs compared to runners. Do I need more muscle to be a strong cyclist compared to what I would need to be strong runner?
