I commonly here ,wear a weight vest and ankle weights, do speed work by sprinting a mile, eat more beans for protein.

I also here the same thing's.
Why do you have to run so much, can't you just cross train and get the same effect without all the POUNDING.
(My thoughts... I don't really pound the ground when I run, but that's just me)
Eat honey right before you run to give you energy. Plus all the ones you said.
I was told to run my mileage with a parachute by my barber to prep for finals.
I was told to sprint as fast as I could for as long as I possible and increase the distance I was sprinting until I could run that fast for an entire race.
I thought the strategy was pretty novel.

Try Chi Running.
Actually this was from a one-time 33 min 10K runner who spent 15 minutes trying to convince me that Chi was awesome and that I should give it a go.

Did you actually try it before you made a judgment?

I eat honey before races all the time for that exact reason. I also recall reading (several years back) in runners world that a pro runner recommended doing it, too.

I eat honey all the time but I never feel like it gives me extra energy. It's just healthy.
"You're too skinny to be fast. You should gain weight."
They're clearly never seen a Kenyan marathoner.

this, also that I should run practice marathons and try to run
faster each time.
For a marathon, all I have to do is go out as hard as I can, and really believe.
My other favorite (before I ran a marathon) was the pressure I got from coworkers to let another coworker, who held a 5:20 marathon PR and coached for TNT, coach me so I could finally do a marathon and then move up to a triathlon....
