robbo, excellent story - always good to see masters guys win open titles.
Satch - go to it - excellent.

Thanks! Although the credit goes entirely to the dozens of people wh stayed away and made it possible ;-)
It turns out there were much better masters stories this weekend in the UK. It was great watching newly minted master Haile G on TV in Manchester, with Kipsang and Kipsiro looking worried and the three of them all together until very near the end.
I just want to say a small congratulations for a couple of Brits who are tearing up the tracks.
Mike Trees of Belgrave Harriers, who spends half his time tearing up the tracks in Japan, took fifth overall in the Westminster Mile and smashed the over-50 British mile record with a 4:38.
Meanwhile, you probably heard about Martin Rees, who is now 60 and started running at 37. In the last few weeks he has knocked out a 71:32 half marathon, and a 32:56 10k. I suspect there will be some blazing times for him over the shorter stuff this summer as his training is mostly fast 300s and 600s.
Hey-
Always inspired by the amazing times and workouts people post on this thread. Just wondering if anyone on these boards is doing the 8K Championships in Williamsburg this weekend? I'll be running the peoples race, not fast enough to compete with the big dogs. Good luck to anyone who is racing there.
Mr Cool, good luck with your comeback. Welcome back to running !
