She's been healthy her entire college career, yet has only run 4:10 after running 4:14 in 2008. And just recently she just finished 5th at Pac 12's.
She seems like she has a great work ethic and head on her shoulders, so it doesn't reflect well on Oregon to have her barely improve during college despite staying healthy the whole time.

Jordan has been competively racing since the 6th or 7th grade...at a National LEVEL! ...she needs a break!

Well Tyson Gay hasn't even improved one second in five years in the 100 meters!

I guess it went right over you - A second in a 100 meter race is an improvement that no seasoned sprinters will ever make. One second in a 10-second race and four seconds in a 4-minute race - light years of difference.

But I guess the other guy thinks that Tyson could be running an 8.xx right not if he were only younger and not injured.
I am a Hasay fan. However, she has been training hard since the age of 12. When coaches or track fans say she has huge room for improvement, I am not really sure where this room for improvement would come from.
Hasay is top 5 all-time NCAA runner at 10k. She also hasn't run in a super fast 1500m yet this outdoor season. I would have thought she would be faster than 4:10 at this point, but I don't know that your point really proves exactly what you're saying it does. You're looking at a runner who has switched their focus to longer endurance based events (where she has shows a lot of improvement) but using her PR in a more speed based event to show a lack of improvement.
She had great success at 1500m in high school because that is where the focus is for girl's distance running in high school. 3000/3200 is seen as an event for the slower girls or a double for strong 1500m. High school girls in the US are kept way away from the 5k/10k on the track.
Coming into college, Jordan was wrongly kept at 1500m based on her high school success. She never had the kind of turnover and power needed to get to a 4:00 1500. She is more of a 5k/10k runner like Shalane and Kara (4:05 1500m prs).
Looking at her 1500 improvement is useless as she is most certainty NOT a 1500 runner!
She is a 5k/10k runner and she has made fantastic improvements in the longer races. There is no way she could have 15:30/32:00 in high school. Also, her indoor 8:57 converts roughly to a 9:35 3200m. Her high school outdoor best was 9:52.
Let's just say that Jordan is now probably running the equivalent of her 5k high school PR TWO TIMES CONSECUTIVELY in a 10k.

If you're not satisfied with her improvement through college, just look at how well she's academically. That's been a major cost to her energy and maximizing recovery. Maybe still worth it, but that is reality.

she did just run a pretty good 10k recently. Her focus this year isn't pac 12s as she'll be running the 5 or 10 at ncaas.

This is false logic. If Hasay ran an elite 3k like she did her fast 1500's in HS you'd have less improvement more in line with her 1500.
That said, she's improved....which is more than can be said for most HS phenoms, and she's still competing.
Well, I guess her limited improvement--after having been healthy the whole time (a distinct talent in itself, by the way)--gainsays all those folks who've alleged that she's been doping.
In any case, she's still faster at 1500 than Abbey...
Staying healthy is not a talent.
The whole Tyson Gay joke about improving 1 second and the poster totally missing the point just sums up the letsrun message board in 2013.
She's still only 21 (hard to believe). With college out of the way, not running for points, and with the right coach, watch her times improve dramatically. Jordan is just touching the tip of her potential.
