Next race: Indoor triathlon relay 4 mile run with a bunch of the other club runners. "Racing" on a treadmill will be interesting (especially if the treadmills were on a track, and it were a marathon, and somebody got virtually lapped... sorry xenonscreams).
Alright. This week I had a little injury scare (related to the calf strain last week), but otherwise was pretty OK. This did mean me not racing this weekend, which sucked, especially since one of the other club runners hit 4:03 in the 1500 and it would have been great to have seen that.
M AM - 6
M PM - 6.5
T - Off. Swelling in a "collar" around my lower leg an inch or so above the top of the ankle, which was weird. Disappeared, though.

Th PM - 8+, 3 mile tempo in 5:35, 5:28, 5:23, 16:26 total.
F - 11.5, another workout (sorta 30/40s)
Sa AM - 6
Sa PM - 8
Su - 9 aborted long run. GI.

Friday workout: Did the back to back workouts so I'd have a day to recover before the long run, but since the long run didn't really happen, it looks kind of pointless now. Anyways, first did ~4k of 200 on, 200 off in roughly 36/48 (really averaged 35.5, 48.9), jogged a couple of laps, then did another ~4k of the same, only trying to increase the pace of the on segments a bit and increase the rest as well. Think I probably averaged 34.high while keeping the rests below about 55, but my watch doesn't remember enough splits so I'll never know for sure.
Before moving on to comments, thanks for everyone who congratulated me last week (I know there were a few of you, and I never got around to responding). I think someone also asked about it being a Sunday track meet. Basically, the varsity team had a home meet, then our club team had a home meet the next day. The club also enters some college meets.
Rushed: Impressive week! That Saturday workout is awesome, and it's good to hear you felt great while doing it (at least for the first!).
Yuri_G: That's one way to break 18! Congratulations on running a tough race!
Slartzio: You pick up any money with that? Congrats on the PR!
Pikachu: Sounds like a tough race, but good to hear that you were close to some impressive runners. Keep up the good work!
NP1112: Way to get me excited for my treadmill race tomorrow. Nice workouts, though!
Numbersguy: Sounds like you ran an awesome race! Great to hear that it went so well! And since I asked Slartzio: did you get any cash with that?
Team Bartowski: Hope you feel better, and that the transition to morning running serves you well!
nick83: Tough luck with the injury. Hope you can manage it well enough to get through the important races healthy!
NJ truth: Is this a local track 10k? I can't imagine June weather being conducive to fast times, but if so, good luck!
xenonscreams: Congrats on the race! Also, the after party sounds like good fun, even if you feel like you were a fool!
pablo: Good to hear you're dealing with the injury intelligently. It's definitely hard to balance our short term impulsiveness with what's best for us in the long term, but it sounds like you're doing the right thing.
Reg Fields: Well, it looks like people were right in predicting a big breakthrough! Congratulations! Since you mentioned your weight, you've made me curious. How tall are you?
grizz: My treadmill 4 mile time will crush yours. I'm just going to have to work a lot harder for it! Great week, also with a very impressive weekend!
