Hello World,
What happens if you get caught at night running on a golf course?

I used to work at night at a golf course (back in high school) doing irrigation work. If someone was running on the course when I was working, I would've been spooked for sure. Then I'd tell them they're trespassing and ask them to leave. Running on the greens is BAD news.

What happens is the realization that you're a slow runner. FAST RUNNERS DON'T GET CAUGHT, PENGUIN!
You will be thrown into a pit of dobermans.
Same thing that happens when you get caught during the day; nothing.
How would you get caught?
A word of caution, golf courses are full of 'hazards' accidentally running full stride into a deep sand trap in the dark would be bad for you. And yes stay off the greens.
We talking a muni course or a snooty country club?
So let's stay off the greens at night, OK?

Older men in plaid pants may do something very strange to you.
Used to go there first thing during a fresh snowfall. A couple of inches and the XC skiing was great.
My friend said they have golf cart security with lights so they can find you.
You incur terrible wrath...

Better than getting caught night putting with the Dean's daughter.
You "auto-generate"
Who would catch you?
So long as you are not running on the greens I don't think it would matter from a damage standpoint.
We used to run on a GC all the time in HS and college. Mostly on trails and cart paths. Did hills on one fairway often. Nobody bothered us, we did it in broad daylight in the winter.
There were people lying down next to the pond. I didn't get caught and nobody saw me running.

I saw you, but you didn't see me.
You get asked to leave. Some golf course slaves (employees), owners, and users (gophers) may indicate that you are trespassing, which you may very well be if its not a public course. They especially hate when you run on the greens. You can probably run on the golf course in the early morning or late evening without anyone caring. I do this and run as much on the greens as I can without getting bored. Its just grass.
Just watch out for the courses that let their dogs out at night to patrol.
True.

True.
Great point!
Some courses get feist dogs and let them loose at night. I feist is a NASTY dog! It will literally rip your calves off, eat them, and the use the open space left to use the bathroom.
