Sub 11 for sure on a good day
So who is faster over 100m? Him or Rupp ?
this will explode the heads of all those saying rupp's 10.9 flying 100 was BS. these guys are F'ing fast people...AND they have other-worldly endurance. it's the combo, having both. that's why they are elite.
There is no way that's true. If Mo could only run 12.9 THERE IS NO WAY Cam could run a 11.5. It was probably more like 90 meters.
I believe it because I can run sub 12 (in 8th grade I ran 12.34 officially) and my 400 pr is 52 and my mile pr is 4:21. sub 12 is quick, but it's not that amazing.

What does any of that have to do with whether or not these guys can sprint well?
fixed.

Perhaps Cam is faster over 800m and Mo is faster over the marathon
In trainers.
He definitely had some gears that Lalang and the others lacked last year. So much for mega miles destroying speed.
He should do an exhibition 100 against Rupp, Mo, Derrick, Manzano, Centro et al. Blocks, spikes, FAT.
If this is accurate, he can be a world-class middle-distance runner...
BS, no way its true. I'd have to see it to believe it

Lalang was injured last year I think
Curious why none of you has mentioned that before describing the 11.5 100 he says, "It's hard to say how accurate everything is" and after it he says, "approximately."
"I can still run in the 11s for my 100, which is "still pretty quick" for a distance runner..."
Right, and Adolf Hitler was "kind of mean"...
what destroys speed is walking, and long runs without breaks.
If you hit 20 miles a day all in one go, no break whatsoever from start to finish, and you walk all the time, your speed will be zapped pretty quickly.
Thats one of the things about Kenyans if you read all the literature on them, they break up their runs and keep most of their speed obviously for their kicks at the end of races, while white distance runners look like overweight undefined hobby joggers.
His point was as a scrub 8th grader he can run 12.34 FAT so y'all being so pumped an ELITE can run 'fast' is absolutely stupid. Rupp running 10.9 with a rolling start or levins 11.5 is something that wouldn't even win stuff in high school, so it shouldnt be unbelievable for some of the best in the world at longer distances. Don't be silly.
11.5 hand time = 11.80 or so electronic depending on where the timer is standing. 12.0 is pretty fast for a distance runner, but it's not your 100m speed that makes you a good kicker.
What this interview shows as much as anything is that distance does not kill your speed, and that distance runners need to work on speed all year around.
11.5 standing is great.
can should be good for 23.0 in the 200m.
which is elite speed for a 5k guy.
i he can go 22 low for 200m then he can look to medal at the worlds.
hey i'm awake now.
