Was it supposed to be last weekend but cancelled due to the storm? Or was it always scheduled mid-week?

BU is leaving for I think Liberty League. And because of that they can't run in the conference championships so we couldn't use their track. So we had to go somewhere else and the only time reggie was available was midweek.

Still more questions.
1) There are thousands of tracks out there. Why do you need to be in Boston?? Who in the A East has their own track?
2) Most conference meet are 2/23. Why didn't you look into having it this weekend or next?
Is BU in no conference this year still? What ever came of this:

Hi-
1) There might be "thousands of tracks out there," but why hold the conference meet at some dingy little flat, undersized track? I know UNH has a 160m banked track with very limited seating, but not even the NH indoor state meet is held there. Other than UNH, I'm not sure what the indoor track situation is at the other AE schools.
As for why Boston, the America East ranges (geographically) from Bangor ME in the north to Baltimore County, MD in the south. Most of the schools (except UMBC and maybe SUNY Binghamton) are within a fairly easy drive from Boston.
2) I can't really speak to number 2, other than I'm guessing most of the tracks in the area are fairly busy next weekend for exactly that reason. Also, the various high school indoor seasons are getting into championship-mode, so there's even more competition for indoor tracks.
3) I might be wrong on this, but it's my understanding that with BU's move to the Patriot League next year, the other schools in the conference voted to bar BU from America East post-season competition. Rich Peters was named AE Performer of the Week earlier this season for his sub-4 at the Terrier Invite, so it seems like BU is not exactly conferenceless.
If any of my old coaches see this, hullo! I apologize if I've said anything incorrect.

There are certainly not thousands of indoor tracks anywhere. And of the few there are, not all can host major meets.

What is it about the Reggie being unavailable that you don't understand?
that's only indoors. t&f doesn't start for another 5 weeks. hope this helps.

The conference searched out the availability of many tracks for the normal weekend (which is this one) including the Armory, PGSLC in MD, St. Lawrence, Army, amongst others. While some were available for this weekend, the general consensus was to have it on a track on the same caliber or as close to as Boston University, thus a moving of the dates in order to use the Reggie Lewis Center. Next year it will be a Sunday and Monday at the Armory in NYC, followed by a Friday and Saturday at the Armory I believe. Many schools in the AEC have a track, however, none really suitable for a Conference Championship in terms of number of teams, entrants, or desired performances.
2) Most conference meet are 2/23. Why didn't you look into having it this weekend or next?
They did, see above. Track availability on weekends is almost non-existent, especially when you are trying to reserve it during the fall. Most places are schedule a year if not two or sometimes three years ahead of the schedule.

BU is moving the Patriot League next year, however, it still competes in the America East Conference this year, thus maintaining their regular season schedule. Since they are leaving so quickly, they were barred from post-season competitions, thus why they did not compete at the Conference meet and probably why we did not use their track as well.
