High school coach was walking 2 girls to their car when they were appraoched by 2 armed attackers who pulled a gun. He shoots and kills one, sent other to hospital. Coach had valid CCW permit, was volunteer cop and 70 years old.

*crickets*
I wonder if he will get in trouble for having a gun on school property. It wouldn't surprise me.
I wonder if this would have happened if those attackers didn't have access to a plethora of guns.
Blood thirsty murderer is all he is. He killed two troubled youths who were trying to get their lives back on track. This old coach has lived his life and should be willing to lay his down for the troubled youths.

Agreed. It isn't their fault. The damned temptation is everywhere! Guns are all over the place, we need to ban them so that these troubled youths are not tempted to buy them when they visit their local sporting goods stores.
Not really sure why there would be 'crickets'. I have not heard opposition to qualified individuals carrying a registered/permitted pistol?
Have you?

On school property? Yes I have.

Because an attacker with a gun would never appear on school property?
And meanwhile, another 68 people were killed with guns in the US, and 0 in the UK, Aus and Canada.
68 peoples lives is quite a price to pay for the safety and well being of 2.
I have heard people say that guns in schools are not part of the larger answer, but not that it should be totally outlawed. Such as a police officer having a gun on school grounds, or the secret service.
My high school had a no gun policy but when Dubya came to speak there were secret service snipers on the roof.

Interestingly, whenever there is a shooting at a school, the danger seems to end when someone shows up with a GUN to stop the intruder.
Probably a conicidence.
Never accept any media report as fact -- especially one that is merely repeating the story of a shooter who killed someone.
Two guys approach, one has a gun out and trained on the old man, but the old guy gets the drop on both of them? Maybe. Maybe not.
I am having a hard time not clicking on the link above you.
And yes, I tend to agree with your point.
The more guns there are, the less people get shot.
Interesting theory. But completely insane. And juvenile.

Of course, we both know your statistics are incorrect.
Much like the court system - would rather 10 guilty men go free than 1 innocent go to jail... it's important enough for 1 to be able to defend their life, liberty, and property with a gun than 10 feel a little safer from a gun ban.

And yet responsible people exercising their rights to own guns do stop shooters. How soon we forget.
Pearl High School - Luke Woodham brings a gun to school, kills 2, injures 7. What stopped him? The appearance of a gun. Asst Principal Joel Myrick goes to his car, gets a firearm and confronts he shooter. It is then, after a gun is pointed at the shooter that he gives up and lives are saved.

so 68 people/day being killed is the price to pay for an occasional win for those who want to carry guns? Interesting moral calculus you have.

Obama's sons should always be given the benefit of the doubt. They probably just wanted to borrow the coach's wallet and would have returned it in due time with some extra money in it and a nice thank you note. They were also probably just asking the coach for instructions on how best to clean their firearms and how to handle it safely when the coach went nuts. Obviously, the coach needs to be locked up and the surviving robber needs to be hailed as a hero.
I'm so tired of seeing that Pearl High School crap get posted and reposted. The assistant principal didn't stop the shooting. Again. He didn't stop the shooting. He stopped the kid as he was trying to leave school grounds, after he already finished shooting. Y'all are f*cking stupid.
