Yes
my school did it, but alas it was before my time. all i know is you can still see the puke stain on the track at the far turn. winner was around 6:45 i think. sub 5:00? i don't know about that...
Loughborough University, 2001 - 5:19 by AC Muir using pints (16oz) not cans followed closely by another Brit who ran in the NCAA XC this past week.
we do it every year after cross. the fastest we ever had was a kid go 6:07. there is a shit load of puke everywhere though.
WE DO A 5K WHERE YOU CHUG A BEER EVERY HALF MILE, NOW THATS A REAL RACE!
How about a beer marathon where you chug a beer every mile? No Gallodrinking allowed either.
Yes...the sub 5 minute beer mile has been done. Ask Oregon.
One of the Oregon Davis Brothers, not Micah, but the other one, went sub-five like it was a walk in the park.
Our team does a beer run that consists of an 11 mile run with 9 beer stops along the way. At each bar, each team of 3 people must drink a pitcher of beer. This race takes some real balls!
for this sub 5 beer mile, what were the rules used, did he do a beer a lap or something else?
Follow those rules, and get it certified if you can supposedly go sub-5, cuz that's 40 seconds off the world record. Sub-5 is pretty much impossible if you take into account how long it takes to chug a beer. If you chugged each one in about 15 seconds, you'd still have to run sub-60 for each lap. I'm very skeptical sub-5 has ever been run.
You can chug a beer in less than 7 seconds.
4:20 mile leaves you 40 seconds to chug.
Although extremely hard to imagine, it is possible.
I doubt that it is possible to chug a beer in 7s out of a CAN that has just been opened. No shotgunning/ pre-opening of the beer/ pouring it into cups etc. Try pouring out a can-- I bet it takes at least 7s.
I imagine that the above posts re: sub 5 minute beer miles were done with draft out of a cup.
