ever.
we spend a great deal of time on this board wondering why we are behind the rest of the world in distance running (mainly the Africans). khannouchi is now and American. that is great, it is what makes our country great and sometimes it is our biggest flaw. our borders are too open and that is a topic for other message boards.
if khannouchi wins the gold medal in the marathon, we as a country have not caught up to the world in any way. while he would be an american in every sense of the word, because of his citizenship, he would still not help us close the gap in my mind. to close that gap we would have to start winning medals with home-grown talent. that is what i was trying to say.
a number of morons on this board attacked me for being a racist, questioned how much of "a runner" i am, among other things. for the record i am far from a racist and have worked with minority children for the last 6 year and have enjoyed every minute of it. while i am far from the fastest runner on this board i am not the slowest (sub 16:00 5k on the roads). nothing special, but certainly a runner.
this is my final post and i have enjoyed wasting time on this board during my recent injury.
