So she is garnishing attention on herself...i.e. making herself look better.
Perhaps though I could have also used the word garner, but that isn't exactly where I was going with the thought. I wasn't just trying to say she was trying to bring attention to herself, but to bring attention to herself and make herself look better in the process.
Well, that's a nice attempt to weasel out of having used the wrong word, but sorry, no dice. By using the nonsense phrase "garnish attention on," you have only proven that you have no idea how to employ the word "garnish" even though its various definitions are right before your increasingly slack face.
As far as the point you are trying to make is concerned, well, does it matter? Garnering personal attention is what essentially all bloggers do to some extent. Personally I think that Lauren is more intent on getting a message out there than putting a personal stamp on it, at least in the post under fire here, but blogging by its very nature is a self-indulgent pastime. That's why avoid it, along with cliches, like the plague.
