Marijuana may relax you and prevent those pre-rsce jitters. I suggest smoking no less than 5 hrs beforehand. Hydrate properly, light up, and give it time. You'll go out in the first mile much slower than normally and you won't get caught up in that stupid adrenaline rush that ends up killing runners in the later miles. It's definitely helped me.
