Story on Abitova here:
...banned for an "abnormal haemoglobin profile in her biological passport"
Abitova will be stripped of all results beginning Oct. 10, 2009, a period which includes her 2009 Yokohama International Women's Marathon win.
She ran 2:22 for 2nd in the 2010 London marathon, and was 4th in NYC that same year.
Bump, cause this needs to be on the front page. Abitova is a big fish. Who's their agents?

Not sure if anyone is asking yet but for the record, yes, we here at LetsRun.com also acknowledge WADA bans.
Thus she also will be DQd from the LRC virtual NYCM marathon on Monday where she placed 3rd:

Ridiculous.
Banned by the drug believers because she has hemoglobin and is Russian.
Abitova was running NYC this year?

She doesn't appear to be on the list.
http://www.nyrr.org/sites/default/files/ProAthletesFemale.Runners_0.pdfWhich would make sense considering her suspension began in October.

Andrey Baranov is the agent for most of the top Russian distance runners. Looks like a real upstanding character. Tough to tie an athlete's doping to the agent, but he's a U.S. resident (not sure if he's a citizen too), but it'd be great if USADA and/or Feds did some digging.

Stop trolling, obviously no one is as stupid as you regularly make yourself look.

Yeah, I was wondering why she's in the virtual marathon results, but not on that list, unless NYC got word of her ban and scratched her (notice the blank at 108).
Absolutely zero English articles on Pishchalnikova at the moment, so here's a translated Russian one: http://translate.google.com.au/translate?hl=en&sl=ru&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.eurosport.ru%2Fathletics%2Fstory_sto3484599.shtml

Perhaps more interesting is the coach, Vladimir Timofeyev.
It appears that he also coaches Nadezda Leonteva.
http://registration.baa.org/2012/cf/public/wnd_iAthleteDetailsWindow.cfm?RaceAppID=29739Plus Irina Timofeyeva
http://www.universalsports.ru/team.htmlVladimir Timofeyev also coaches/coached Nailiya Yulamanova, the one that got finished in second in the women's marathon at the 2010 European Athletics Championships, but was promoted to first after the first placed finisher was disqualified, but then got banned herself for... abnormalities in her biological passport.

She was one of the ones caught before the 2008 Olympics, along with several of the Russian mid-distance women.
Second offence for her.

He also represents Tatyana Aryasova, the Russian who tested positive after winning Tokyo in 2011, and Liliya Shobukhova, who pulled out of two road races with an injury immediately after the announcement of Aryasova's positive test and just hasn't been herself since then, the London Olympics marathon 3rd and 5th placers, etc.
I'm sure Abitova originally was in the NYC field.
It looks like virtually all of the Russian world class marathoners are represented by Baranov (is there any notable exception?). Maybe they just want to have an international agent that speaks their language and there is not much choice?
Or course this is not to say that Baranov's track record with drug cheat athletes isn't quite striking and questions obviously should be asked.

I don't understand why there isn't more being done about Russian coaches involved in drug scandals. I didn't hear a thing about coaches/agents getting punished for the '08 incident.
http://eng.rusathletics.com/sbo/coaches/athletes.7119.htmMatvey Telyatnikov is one of the most 'prestigious' Russian middle distance coaches, and among the athletes he currently works with are Yelena Soboleva, Svetlana Cherkasova and Anastasiya Kapachinskaya. Guess what they all have in common.
Also coaches Olympic 800m bronze medalist Poistogova who went from 2:02 last year to multiple 1:57s this year.
Lance made her do it.
One of the dirtiest individuals in Athletics . He learned his trade from Hussein Makke ( exactly !! ) and then went off on his own with the Russians that Makke represented. I wish that he was gone and hopefully some of this will ensure that he is dead and buried in doping hell.
Thanks for the link to the RusAthletics site.
Here is our guy, Vladimir Timofeiev.
http://eng.rusathletics.com/sbo/coaches/athletes.7124.htm
He has 3 x women listed as 10,000m/marathon runners.
Inga Abitova - banned.
Nadezhda Leontyeva - no known anti-doping sanctions
Nailia Yulamanova - banned.
He also has 6 athletes with their main distance listed as mountain running, although it appears that they do some other events.
Marina Ivanova
Yuriy Plotnikov
Galina Yegorova
Viktoriya Zakharova
Aleksandra Zhavoronkova
Eduard Zhigunov
In any case, none of them have any significant results I could find, so it appears that of his three best athletes, two are banned. The third might not even be good enough to be in the out of competition testing pool.
