Chelimo and katam will be only ones.

Times it takes are 345, 1408, and 2946, (steeple 857).

Chelimo and Katam are definitely the only ones that have a regional spot "locked down," however several of these guys made it last year.

Taylor made it in the 1500, Moen, Soderman, and Cox all made it in the steeple. Pagonis was also decently close in the 5k.

So thats 6 that have already made it historically, and im sure ive missed somebody....so saying a normal progression, what is wrong with thinking more guys could potentially make it this coming year?

Steeple is gonna be real interesting come conference. Expect a much higher level race than the Socon is used to..

App and Chelimo will dominate distancea and Western will dominate sprints. Board doesn't care about field events.

Greensboro picked up 2 more kenyand and so next year's conference meet is over already on men's side.

If that is true then that could give UNCG a very strong 1,2,3,4 ... and their 5,6,7 will be decent. UNCG could run the socon for several years, even though App will reload and Furman has a ton of young talent.

Has anybody else heard that App is leaving the SOCON?

This is not another Curcio rumor. I mean the whole university switching conferences (due to football I would guess)?

Yes, they are trying to move to a larger conference for Football to be a FBS school and have made this known. I did not hear that another conference has taken them but with all of the changes in conferences lately it would not be a surprise.

Also, Georgia Southern is supposedly leaving for the Sun Belt conference for the same reason and CofC has already announced that they will join the CAA starting this summer. Neither of these moves will have an affect on cross country but women's track will be change. This may open the door for others to leave as Davidson has been rumored to leave for the CAA or Atlantic 10. With the Big East BBall schools leaving to form their own BBAll conference, they may take some A10 schools which would open the door for Davidson there.

In 3-5 yrs the SoCon could be totally different.

Hopefully, if AppState does switch it will only be football changing to an FBS school. For the sake of the SoCon. If the SoCon loses 3-4 school hopefully it can pick up a few team from the big south or something.

I won't let the thread die. I love it too much. Almost as much as I loved the old one. Indoor Predictions, hot and ready. App runs train on everybody. Unless it's like last year and they choke and don't win anything. In which case the Kenyans will run train. Unless some of those Furman recruits come early. Then they might run train.

Obviously Chelimo wins whatever he runs. I'd say their #2 guy wins the 5k if he runs it. Moen may win the 3k and Taylor may win the 800, but it will be tough for both.

Western will easily dismantle app indoors this year.

App has literally no sprinters and the only distance guys they have are moen and taylor. I say they win by 50+ points.
