Oddly enough, the author sites just 3 studies and says that there needs to be another which studies sedentary young people, comparing Kenyans to caucasians. I could swear that I read an article detailing just such an experiment, and the Kenyan youngsters had greater capallarization and more mitochondria than their caucasian counterparts.
I wish I could find that article...
I think it's one of the other articles on the PPOnline website. I know I just read it recently. Try searching their articles, you might find it.
Normally I think Owen Anderson is a knucklehead, but he's got some good points here. He misses the key point, though, which is that there is so much genetic variation among any given ethnic group that to say one group as a whole is better than another is just silly. There will be Americans and Europeans who can compete with Kenyans and Ethiopians...maybe there already are.
