Won't be a competitive runner on the world scene so suprised they invested in her. I would even take an Alex Kosinski over Reid (looks aside obviously haha). I would say Reid is the womens equivalent of Mo Ahmed and just isn't quite on the Cam Levins level.

Fixed. Add 2:44 indoors to that.
Reid has run 15:23 in the 5k. Making her faster at every distance (and MUCH better at racing). She is a racer, she's gutsy, and mega-talented. She also has phenomenal speed. She's going to be a great pro runner....maybe not competitive with the Kenyans, but I think she can be sub 4 and sub 14:50.
She never ran very high mileage in school.
Kosinski is on gear only with OTC. She will not make it as a pro.
Reid has that whole Canadian thing going for her.

If you want to sell shoes in Canada, give a contract to a fast, photogenic, and well-spoken Canadian Olympian.
Reid is a bigger deal already and potentially in the Canadian market than she would be in the US market if she were a US runner with the same qualities.
It's money well spent by Nike.
