I don't know. I don't have any, and I feel pretty cool.
i got a temporary one once, was sick of it in about 40 minutes.
I stopped drawing on myself at 5 years old or so. I see people with tattoos as extremely insecure individuals; much like the "look at me!" crowd.
Youre overthinking it
If you think having a tatoo is about trying to be cool then you shouldn't get one. Lots of people never thought it was cool. If you have a visible tatoo be prepared to be discriminated against. People should get tatoos for personal reason and then it's not of anyones business why they got it and what it means to have one. I know plenty of people, including myself who have tatoos for personal reasons which have nothing to do with being insecure and looking for attention. Most people don't even know I have one and I like to keep it that way. So think about that next time you stereotype someone with a tatoo unfairly.
Realized my typing mistake with all the "tatoos" instead of tattoos. I have fine motor skills issues apparently.
Disagree. Still cool.

made my day. lol,thanks
If the reason you got a tattoo or didn't get a tattoo is based on what you think other people think is "cool" is, in itself, uncool.

So it looks like you stereotype those with visible tattoos.
the answer to the thread title is:
no.
Tattoos aren't something people get to be "cool" - they get them to express their individuality - like their deeply held political beliefs-

WOW! Shut up already.
You: "I have a permanent ink etching on my skin for completely personal reasons! Don't even ask me what it represents because there's no way I'll tell you! Seriously, bro, don't ask me! Seriously, I won't tell you... Do you wanna know?
There are plenty of venues for self-expression: music, art, etc. Tattoos are an example - an example that people literally wear on themselves like an advertisement. I don't see why anyone would choose this venue and then say, "yeah, it's a private thing" when it's the least private. You're a walking art show, desperately wanted people to 'wonder' what your sweet tat means to you.
Tats are a pointless waste of time.
And they junk up lots of hotties.
What a waste.
I think the answer is slowly becoming yes, especially if you live in a area where every other person you see on the street has a tattoo.
Tattoos were never cool. Where I come from the only people with tats are thugs and gangsters.
Ah so your from Utah.
lol no, look at my username.
