yeah, how did you do?
Here's how the top 50 were grouped at 5 miles, with their finishing places out to the left. 1-2 stayed solid, while the next 4 "stragglers" faded badly. Looks like the pack that went thru after them had the next several finishers (4-7).

Stanford went from 8-9-12-14 (43) to 3-5-8-9 (25) in the last 2k.
Torres and Robison had the fastest last 2ks (5:46).
but Tenforde (22) fell to 29, and Hall (24) dropped to 37. Didn't make any difference though, they were just too tough as a team for anyone else.
Congrats to the whole team.
Okay, this is completely off topic, but really, "Bigist?" That can't even be allowed for as a typo. Unless you're referring to believers in Bigism, whatever that is.
Quite frankly, I thought that as a team, Colorado was much farther back than they should have been. Bummer about Slattery and all, and I'm not looking to place blame, but they were farther back than I expected.
colorado finished about where i think many people thought they would. I mean when a team loses a guy like ritz one of the top 10 (if not top 3 or 5 guys) in the nation your are going to get hurt. Colorado was no where near as deep as stanford and some other teams this year..They simply didnt have the grouping up front that is needed to win the title. They barely won last year b/c the #5 guy was so far back and this year was no different
What about on the women's side? What was the deal with Georgetown this year. Landeareau (sp) goes from 14th to 104 and Kruppa from 37th to 118th. What the heck is Helmer doing to his women? They had everybody back from last year's third place team and they could only manage 4th?
That seems to happen with womens teams quite often. I think that the mark of a good womens coach is one who can keep them on track
Hey LSD - could it possibly been that the teams around Georgetown improved, or just had a "great" day. Any team that places in the top 5 of the NCAA meet is doing pretty darn well.
But how do your number 1 & number 2 girls go to being your sixth and seventh girls... not to mention the fact that Pape who was a top five girl last year didn't even run. It just seems weird to have five returning scorers and three of them don't even score.
lsd...did you ever think about injury and illness? sources say that pape has been dealing with injury for most of the xc season, but was still gutsy enough to compete. kruppa was out for the summer and early fall due to injury, while laurendeau has been dealing with breathing problems. anemia might also be a factor with these girls. so, before you jump to conclusions, check out the facts.
and helmer...what's he doing with these girls? well, if you check the results, he's only turned in 15 consecutive top ten finishes at xc nationals. not too bad, if you ask me.
Granted that injuries and illness can happen to any team, anytime, but it is part of the job to avoid them. Which isn't to say that if runners get sick or hurt it's an utter failure or the fault of anyone, but it means that on the day, the team's not very good.
Similarly, you can say being top 5 is good, and it is, but that doesn't mean you don't look for reasons why you're not first or second. Especially given their record. Again, no reason to commit hari-kiri, but enough to ask what didn't happen this time.
I can see the threads about biggest party, or who-slept-with-who, but biggest blow-up? Man, I knew some runners had a hard time getting any, but really?
That has to be about the STUPIDEST misspelling I've seen on this forum... and that's really saying something!!!!!
