The race is between Jonathan Borlee, Kevin Borlee, and Kirani James.

The winner will be Jonathan Borlee. He ran a blistering heat that may have been too fast - but I think he could have gone much faster. He was easing up for the last 40m.

I predict J Borlee in around 43.50.

He is the 7th fasted guy in his semi on seasons bests and 6th fastest based on PBs.

Only the first 2 go through auto. That will be Borlee and James. He needs a PB to maybe get through as fastest loser. Unlikely.

Borlee might win the whole thing but he won't break 44.

what bothers me is just that the media only reports his results in the 400m, and going down the road of allowing technological aids in racing is not going to work. Borlee ran 44.4 easing up and will be a threat for the gold with merritt out, along with possibly kevin borlee, santos, james, and hopefully mcquay.

Reading comments on twitter from average people who have no idea about track is very frustrating. They say things like, "he is so inspirational he should be allowed to compete! Anyone who thinks his legs give him an advantage is an idiot!"

I hope he wins gold and crushed the world record so people will wake up, but most likely they would be too stupid to understand even then

wariner's a great relay runner and I hope that he's got something left in the tank, not sure why his season has gone so poorly.

This is what I really fear. Although if he did I think it would squash any future paralympic would-be competitors - a good thing.

Whats disturbing is that OP is described as a 'pioneer' and 'trailblazer' implying that more paralympians with ever-fancier gizmo's will try to get into the Games. The paralympics are great but they are all slaves to their toys, which are fantastic for improving opportunities and quality of life but not appropriate in the trad. OLY arena.

The energy return from his blades is obviously much greater than the combination achilles tendon-gastrocnemius system. He has a huge advantage and I don't think it's fair that he compete with people who don't have a biomechanical advantage.
