ANDREWS ROBBY 1:52.26...WTF
Great link!
That's an outstanding time for the rarely run 900 meters!!!
kids coming backwards now, will probably shut it down after this .. no worries he's a talent and big things should still be expected of him
I really wish he would have stayed in college...perhaps transferred somewhere. I think these next 2 years, he'll be in no man's land.
The Alan Webb curse strikes again.
I'd wait until the next race before I start getting worried. A lot of the US guys have a bad first race after running the trials and then trekking over to Europe.
He's still in school correct?
It was a mile pace workout, don't worry about it.
Rough race for Jock and Martin, as well. It seems like all the Americans are struggling in their first European races, though.
After the past few day's meets............I'm starting to think that article about this being the US's worst team is true. Even if he didn't make the team, the others aren't showing promising results either.
Obviously he shouldn't have spent 147 minutes and 33.4 seconds on his feet yesterday, even if he did only average 2.6 miles/hour for the 122 minutes and 22.6 seconds of the walking portion of it.
Go to his twitter, he isn't bummed out, he's headed for Monaco and he's hanging out with Sheila Reid and Maggie Vessey while getting culinary advice from Ciaran O'Lionard and laughing at AJ's jokes. He'll be OK.

he is so not ready for the caliber of athletes he will likely meet at monaco next week.
nevertheless he is going to have a good career, make some world/olympic teams run mid 1:43's for 800 and 3:31-3:32 for 1500, just not this year, him jock, martin, greer etc. an excellent mid distance group in the future are on empty andshould shut it down for this year.
Reminder: Andrews went from an 800-exclusive runner to 5th in the US in the 1500 in one season. One bad race does not a ruined season make.
Those results surely don't tell the full story.
There are numerous possible explanations, and without seeing a video of the race it is tough to guess. However, here are a few . . .
Got tripped and fell
Hasn't gotten his legs under him from the travel
Wasn't feeling good, and didn't want to waste energy on a 1:48 middle of the pack finish
Was sick, but had to run out of contractual obligation
Consistent results would certainly be better, but with a talent like his, this is only an instance in the broader picture.
I would bet even odds that if he is in Europe for another 4 races, he gets down to sub 1:45/3:35 and/or gets a win or two.

What was the weather like for this meet?
It seems like no one ran fast in any of the events.
Did he look relaxed?
Vig is a great coach! Definitely on most people's top 10 list of best XC and mid-distance coaches in the country. He had quite the odd couple to work with this year in Webb and Andrews. Would love to see him return to the college ranks - as he seems to have a real knack at that level... especially when he goes hard core and puts on the running shoes himself!
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
