It does answer it, thanks.
How common are those 2 hour long runs?
But before you said running is a big sport at FM, but if you only get 20-30 girls without tryouts, then that's not very big. My high school has 20-30 girls with a school of only about 400 total students.
How is the summer program run? Like how many days per week do they meet with any of the coaches and how structured are the workouts?
I'm not sure that I ever ran 2 hours in high school. Gruenewald did it all time.
We had probably 40 guys, for our area that's a pretty big team. When I said big, I guess I meant more about how it's viewed. Other schools don't care as much about running. In FM it is celebrated. My cousin ran for one of the Syracuse city schools that had more students than us but fewer runners. Every Monday the results of the football game were on the morning announcements but running was never mentioned.
The summer program is pretty unstructured. I guess now they're running pretty much every day over the summer. Not everyone might show up every day, you know kids have summer jobs, family vacations, whatever. Basically how it works is that the coaches are there, and if you want to run, they'll give you a workout. It's all very aerobic easyish running, but if you're running 5 days a week there might be more variation than if you're running 2 days a week. Like if you're a 2 day a week runner you're going to mostly just be getting the volume. Does that make sense?
