it's not 22.5 seconds as it dpends on how fast you run, not your gender, and also the type of runner you are.
Standard conversion would be +2 sec (to the mile), then divide by 1.08. So 4.39+2 = 4.41 / 1.08 = 4.20. Still a way to go to run 4.16.
Frankly who cares about Hasay anyway? If she doesn't run as fast as Suzy Favor (3.57) eventually then all that High school hype wasn't warranted. To do that she needs to be able to break 2 minutes for 800m (Doubtful).

Mary Cain is also two and a half years from stepping foot on a college campus.
A lot can go wrong from now until then.
Or maybe she continues to progress, continues her phenomenal high school career, finds the right college fit and heads off to the 2016 Olympics. I see the glass half full.

You don't know much about running. Hasay > Piccirillo @ 1500/1600.

isn't the conversion to girls like 22.5 seconds, so you add two seconds or so which converts to roughly 4:19. That's not terrible for a race she won completely solo, without any solid competition while doubling.
No, gender doesn't matter, it's based on how fast you're running. Not arguing about whether she's running well (she is), but Hasay was clearly better.
Why are there always idiots on here to rip people for their accomplishments? Hasay is Hasay, Angel is Angel. Hasay has a HS pr of 4:39.13 for 1600m. Angel ran 4:39.42. Hasay HS PR for 800m is 2:09.64. Angel ran 2:09.16. She ran well at the PIAA meet! Let her enjoy it! Good job kid... can't wait to see you progress under a great coach and program.
And as far as Villanova not being a track school, are you for real? They are sending Shericka Ward (100H), Sheila Reid (5k), and Bogdana Mimic (5k) to NCAAs. Lipari just missed making it. The rest of the team is incredibly talented and very young. You probably already knew that Villanova Women's T&F has been represented in every Olympic games since 1988, didn't you? Yeah, they aren't a track school.
Yeah, I like how Angel runs the second best HS time this year, yet morons have to come on here and talk about how she sucks compared to the small percentage of women in the country are faster than her.
While we're at it, why don't we make a rule that you can only talk about the world record holder in a given event, because if you mention someone slower than that, you're an idiot and wasting everyone's time.

Seriously, Villanova? Pennsylvanian's make stupid mistakes. How many Villanovan's are going to T&F Nationals compare to the top schools in the nation?
Perhaps she wants a good eduction as well and Nova will have about half dozen girls at nationals, which is probaly better than average for an acedemic institution except for Stanford. How many athletes from the Ivys, UVA, Duke, G'Town, Berkley will be at nationals?
A lot is going RIGHT at the moment....RIGHT?

No question, but for every Mary Decker, there's about ten Briana Jackucewiczs

While we're on the subject of misleading PR's, what's Robby Andrews' PR in the 1600?
Fact: a 4:14 1500 is MUCH faster than a 4:39 1600.

It was about 92 and humid in the 12:30pm heat.
I would've loved 80F

No. you forgot that they also need to be the reigning Olympic champ in their event as well, because a WR merely means theyre a time-trialer.

So you're telling me that Angel P. still went banzai in those conditions? If she were going to Oregon, LR people would be all over her..

So, I guess it's the OP that you're calling an idiot, since they started the Hasay comparisons right from the very start of this thread.
Your 1600m comparisons are misleading...everybody knows that Hasay's 1500m times were her best efforts over the 1500m/1600m/mile distances. Also, since you've now jumped into the comparison pool yourself, it's very selective of you to only go down to the 800m while ignoring distance events above the mile, where Hasay was clearly better.
As I've said, A.P. is an excellent runner, Hasay was simply better - that doesn't tarnish A.P.'s recent accomplishments one bit.
I've come to the conclusion by looking at times that she has better foot speed than Hasay but doesn't have the strength that Hasay demonstrated, even in HS.
