I know an athlete with pr's of
1500m: 3:46
800m: 1:49.7
400m: 47.x
He has run 3:48 or faster four times this season, opened season with a 3:48, set pr of 3:46 to qualify for IC4A's early on outdoors, ran 3:47 again a few weeks later, and recently this past weekend ran 3:47 to win conference.
at the same conference meet, he tripled back in the 4x800m and 4x400m, last leg for both which is where he split his pr's.
he has also consistently run 1:50-1:51 in what i gathered were training through races and relays early on. has run 4:05 low indoors (won the race) and 4:07 in prelims at IC4A's to come in second then 4:05 in finals to come in second (winner was 4:03), also doubled back in the 4x800.
Is this athlete ready for sub four? does he have to be faster (or stronger) in other events first in order to go under? from cross where he doesnt focus he has run 32:45 in the 10k and 25:16 in the 8k.
if he were to get into a fast race would he be able to do it? hasnt been in any truly fast races at all
