I want to know how the heck Andrew Graham is still in college; 3 years in college in the UK then 4 or 5 years in the US! I know this is D2 but come on NCAA check up on these kids!

Coach Martin is not a good coach. PERIOD.
You're correct, he's not a good coach, he's a GREAT coach. I have coached against him for a long time (unfortunately, I've never beat his cross teams, but we're still trying). I have found him to be highly knowledgable, passionate and intense, yet humble.
You may resent their continued success, but to say he's not a good coach is a sign of your own insecurity and ignorance.

If he did not compete for his UK university (the University of East Anglia), but rather his club (Aldershot, Farnham & District) then he did not use up ANY eligibility in the UK. So your timeline is plausible....and legal.
Remember, Morten Bostrum (NAU) was at University of Helsinki 2 years, plus 6 years at NAU.
Wrong, the NCAA rules that came into play in recent years count every season a person participates for a club as a used season of eligibility. Graham has to be almost 30, not sure about his eligibility.
Thanks, I was unaware he did not compete at his UK college and as for the new rules he must have been in school before they came into play.
Coach Martin is...
GREAT at recruiting, especially overaged foreigners
GREAT at working around the NCAA rules and pulling the wool over the RMAC compliance coordinator, who is an ASC alum
MEDIOCRE at developing talent
TERRIBLE at demonstrating class
You would be surprised at how little recruiting he actually does. All the foreigners have contacted him as they wanted to go to Adams State. You will never see him at the world cross or euro cross like you do many D1 coaches (mentioning no names, I probably don\'t need to)
Mediocre at developing talent? Are you kidding me? How many coaches..
Bring in a US 9.0x high schooler and send him out a 13.28 5k guy (Medigovich)?
Bring in a 9.20 US high schooler and send him out a 13.36 5k guy (Braun)?
Bring in a 14.40 5k guy who is already fully developed and send him out a couple of years later as a 13.40 5k guy (Cragg)?
I could go on. But year mediocre at developing talent.
I liked the way the Adams state guy ran. He might have looked back a million times but he ran with balls! The tossing of the stick is a little childish but he put everything on the track trying to win but just did not have enough the last 25m nothing wrong with running like that.
To blame the disqualification on the officials is pretty lame.
I was at the finish and he didn't throw the baton underhand. Hi fired it onto the infield, and anybody in track knows that you get DQ'd when you throw the baton, especially in anger. Coach Martin handled it well, but the call is pretty clear. It's too bad that they lost the team title by that margin, but there were other places where they could have picked up a few more points (as was the case with many teams). To blame officials, who are usually working the meet for free because they love the sport, overlooks the quality work that is done by the officials a vast majority of the time. They aren't perfect but they're pretty good, and were right on this call.
Mack did toss the baton in 09, but he didn't get dq'd. That is good though, because he didn't deserve to. He won fair and square. Batt finished the race, then threw the baton at the ground on the infield. The rules state that if the baton is hurled above head height it is an istant dq, if it is not above head height a warning can be given. Instant DQ is a high school rule. Either way, like them or not Adams had a pretty impressive meet, which essentially won them the title. I have talked to martin many times "classless" is a complete fabrication, i would like to hear why he is classless? If Martin is not a good coach then what are the rest of the coaches in D2? As an Rmac alumni i think the other conferences really need to stop making excuses and bitching and start working harder! I like to see the rmac do well but 1,2,3,4 in the mile then 1,2,4,5 in the 800. Come on guys, do other conferences train?
I do not feel that Coach Martin is classless in any way. He's a great coach, and his team came back on Saturday and had a terrific meet. While a warning can be given in this situation, it is rarely the case when a baton is thrown in anger. It's too bad the meet came down to this, but an official has to make the call on just that event and incident. To not make a call in that situation would have been a shock, and many coaches and athletes would have been pretty upset.
(the University of East Anglia), but rather his club (Aldershot, Farnham & District)
?????
Where did you get this info from codger? Andrew Graham did not attend college before going to the US he used to work in the England. His club was Gosforth Harriers in Newcastle. I believe he went to the US in 08 when different rulers were in place.
