Sisson 9:06.05 after 6:07 through 2k. Second to only Sheila Reid in the race (9:01, dominating the final 1K).
Good to see Sisson back running well and progressing...definitely one of the top future 5k/10k runners for the US.

That's 17 auto's in the women's 3000. We're probably looking at 9:05 next year, maybe 9:06 if the NCAA is feeling nice.
And 15 auto's with the men. That could get dropped to 7:50 and should be.
Few know that Sisson holds the national record for the most schools attended in 6 years.
Now that she's dating super stud Shane Quinn, she will have to stay.
What schools has she attended? Know she started at Wisconsin, then .... ?
She went to 3 or 4 different high schools
That was a very funny post.
Sisson went to three high schools (one in Nebraska, two in Missouri?) and then Wisconsin, then transferred to Providence. Has definitely moved around quite a bit!
Great girl, strong race. I thought she might even catch Sheila Reid...only 4.2 seconds off. Looking forward to more to come.
she stole the title from Caitlin Lane...Lane got lazy in her collegiate years and only ran for one team...gotta stay hungry
she only went to 1 school in MO - Parkway Central
Why didn't she have to sit out this year, since she transferred from Wisconsin after competing for them? Is it because she went to a different conference?
From memory, as it was a long time ago, I changed schools the following number of times, some of them in the same town due to different grades. These are just the ones I remember.
Washington
kindergarten > 1
1st, 2nd, 3rd grades > 2
Idaho
4th, 5th grades > 3
6th, 7th grade > 4
8th grade > 5
California
9th, 10th grades > 6
Montana
10th grade > 7
Kansas
10th grade > 8
Missouri
11th grade > 9
Kansas
12th grade > 10 schools through high school
California
13th grade > 11
13th grade > 12
13th, 14th grades > 13 schools through A.A. degree
15th grade > 14
16th grade > 15 schools through B.S. degree
17th grade > 16 schools through M.S. degree
DONE! - haven't been back to school since.
Whoops this one was a different state.
Arizona
17th grade > 16 schools through M.S. degree

Only 1 in MO, but 2 other high schools. 5 schools in 6 years doesn't show much loyalty.
I think many of the transfers were because of her family's decisions to move. And her transfer from Wisconsin to Providence wasn't a question of loyalty but of the right choice. She went to Wisconsin because her dad did and it was in the family, but the coach/program couldn't offer her what she wanted to get to the next level, which Treacy at Providence is doing quite well.

My reply was in regards to who said she went to more than 1 high school in MO. Also, another posted she graduated HS in Kansas? She graduated from Parkway Central spring of 2010...I know for sure she ran her JR and SR years there as she was State Champ both years. Her team mate there Dianne was State Champ fall of 2007 as a SO, then Emily moved in and just dominated.

HA, yeah ignore that part. Misread the post! my bad :)
Yes things are looking good for the US ladies for 5k/10k in the next few years.
In no particular order:
Sisson, Hasay, Maier, Spence, Kroger, Cuffe, Erdmann, D'Agostino.
Who am I missing?
Katie Flood................how could I forget her.
Just the sophomore class alone is very impressive thus far:
Katie Flood, Abbey D'Agostino, and Emily Sisson. All very, very good already and improving nicely.
Infeld. Who has trounced Sisson every time they have raced.
