If so, do you think it helps you run faster?

one can "jog" with music. one cannot "run" with music.

I often listen to something on my longer runs. not always music. sometimes podcasts, radio news, etc. I use a sansa clip zip.

Impossible. Everyone knows that all the 14 minute 5K runners on hear don't run with music or Garmins. If this is not you, please... you are encouraged not to post. This is called letsrun, and Garmin and music makes you a jogger. Just ask all the really fast guys on here. They preach it like gospel.
I'm going to go for my jog now, with music and a Garmin.
Only if on a treadmill. Outside on the roads and trails, I need my ears to hear cars and axe murderers coming my way.
no.
i run slower with music.

Jogging is relative. To one runner jogging could be a 6 min/mile to another it could be an 11 min/mile.

^This^ for sure, 100%. (and yes, I do run facing traffic)
No, but not because I have some sort of philosophical objection to it. I just prefer not to.
I've listened to all of the interviews in the brojos' training talks series while on runs.

That has indeed made me faster.
Yes i am. My music will drown out your sobs of pity and despair as you flail around and fail miserably trying to keep up NERD
Yes. I run alone and run on the treadmill. I don't run with it during races--no need.
