Just curious.
Man after those long runs over hills and the legs are just a bit sore the next day, a couple of Aleve (Naproxen Sodium) do the trick for me better than anything else, and it lasts 8-12 hours.

heroine.
I find oxycotin does the trick.
I haven't ever thought of taking a painkiller after a long run or a hard workout. Maybe I don't work hard enough but I'm not in so much pain that I can't walk. Of course, I usually only do at the longest a 16 miler at planned race pace so I never push the long runs too hard, more like a recovery day after Saturday.
While I wasn't looking for humor, I guess I should have expected it with this poll. Not bad. Predictable, but not bad anyway.
You might not be in your late 30s either! When you are, those aches and pains last a little longer and are a little more intense.
I bet! Congratulations for plugging on. It would be so much easier to just kick back in the ole la-z-boy and make excuses about your joints.
Vitamin I: Ibruprofen
...or its bastard cousin Naproxen Sodium...doesn't that just roll off the tongue.
Alan
Thanks man. Except for the fact that I'm no longer in my early 20s and my aches and pains are a bit more than they used to be, I still feel like I'm about 23. At some point, your mind just stays pretty much the same - more experiences, but attitudes are pretty much the same.
Why is Naproxen Sodium the bastard cousin?
or even easier to sit around on internet newsgroups asking dumb questions and making an ass out of yourself! Oh wait, he's already doing that...
seriously? Ibuprofen seems to be more effective that the cox2 inhibitors--celbrex, vioxx. Watch out for tummy damage though. Try 400, 600, or 800mg depending on tolerance.
Pretty funny or...
You actually made me laugh out loud at that one.
Can't make me mad, so best to not even try. I'm just a guy who was once a decent runner, is past his prime and now just runs to be as good as I can be in this older body of mine. I like to see what some of you young chaps have to say about running because it is interesting. I don't really learn that much from you college guys because I've already been where you are and done what you're doing, but I find it interesting nevertheless.
Anyway, sorry if that makes me an ass. Most of my polls are just for fun anyway. Just curiosity.
Hope you find a way to extract that stick from your ass.
Seeing Hilary Clinton on television causes me enough pain to last a lifetime.
Ibruprofen is just pissed off at Naproxen Sodium because NS can go longer and harder.
To control inflammation 4x800mg Ibruprofen a day is the usual. I wouldn't do this for longer than 2-3 weeks though. Stomach problems won't come from one dose. Stomach problems will come from long term usage (months, years...). I've taken 2000mg (that's 10 of your standard 200mg pills)Ibruprofen at one time without problems. Though I've only done this once or twice. If you end up having to be on Ibruprofen or another anti-inflammitory for long periods of time (over 2-3 weeks) I think it would be a good idea to alternate Ibruprofen/Naproxen Sodium so your body doesn't build up a tolerance to one or the other too quickly. Once your body builds up a tolerance then more of the drug will have to be used leading to a greater chance of stomach problems.

i usually take some naproxen if im im hurting pretty bad. if i have an injury or anything, ill get some day-pro or some berex from the doc or trainer and those usually do the trick.
Tequilla.
6 shots and I no feel nothing
Dammit, someone beat me to it, although I was gonna give a slightly different answer.
