Has anyone used the Adidas Adizero Ace 3 as a marathon shoe? I am looking at this as my marathon racer and was hoping for anyone's opinion who has used this shoe. Thanks.

Hated them. Ran maybe 3 miles in them and sent them back. Was a huge fan of the Ace 2 and adidas just completely ruined these shoes with the Ace 3. Felt like I strapped 2 foam bricks to my feet. They had terrible road feel and were completely unresponsive when I wanted to pick up the pace. You can't go wrong with the Adios, they were my Ace 2 replacement.
(I learned the hard way with the LT, CS, RC, and Ace 2 that if you find a shoe that works well, stock up on them because odds are adidas will find a way to ruin them [/end rant])
I didn't like them either. I got them discounted (change of colour), and used them as a general purpose training shoe.
There's really not much to them... they feel neutral, not firm but not bouncy either, quite narrow in the toebox (compared to other adizero models) and generally quite dull. I didn't hate them... it's just that they aren't very exciting or interesting to run in. Very unresponsive, very dull. When my big toenail started to poke a hole in the mesh I used that as an excuse to retire them (after 350 miles). I could have got a bit more out of them but they were just too boring.
The longest I ran in them was around 20 miles (including 10 at marathon pace) in training. This was when the shoes were fresh out of the box and they felt fine for that.
The other 2 Adizero models I've used that are similar are the Adios 2 (firmer ride, more responsive, nicer toe box) and the Mana 6 (firmer ride, nicer upper than the Ace, more lateral support too).
I liked the Ace 2.
Now I wear the Adios (original). Big fan. Plenty of cushioning, in my opinion
