Hall didn´t win London in his debut marathon.
So seriously, what does this number stand for?
It looks like the position on the list when they ran the time.
42 2:15:47 2:15:47 Mike McGuire (26) Detroit 1981 (8)
He was 8th fastest in 1981 but 34 people have since debuted faster knocking him down the list.
Thanks!

Wasn't that Ian Burrel's debut?
Hartmann went out with the chase and bonked hard.... 32nd in 2:16:40ish.... What the hell happened??? He's a consistent marathoner, until today.

How about Fernando Cabada in 7th in 2:11. A PR for Cabada
This. I haven't been following the sport much these past few years. Was surprised to see him running. And more surprised to see his time. That guy has such ups and downs.
Fernando had a helluva race!
Check Cabada's mile splits for the last 5-6 miles of those that are posted. He was running just as fast as the leaders. Outstanding race and deserves the success.
Wendy Thomas. Four years ago this now 32-year-old mother of two had never trained a day in her life (unless you count volleyball at a Juco). Now she's 12th at the Olympic Trials.
Alan Webb 2:13:24:09:? Great run for him.
The guy that won was wearing Skechers!

Melissa White, SUNY Geneseo alum in 13th.
Michael Chavez, debut marathon 2:16:13. Works fulltime.
Really good to see some DIII athletes up there.

I agree. I'm sure each had a reason, injuries or whatever, and wanted to finish their Olympic Trials moment. Still, it looked a bit silly
