You need to shop for your lady friends and not dress your runner honey like a prissy ballerina. Distance runners have a bad rap in the sports world as it is. If you dress your runner honey in tights he looks like a prissy fairy and hurts the rep of the rest of us.

Running tights are not underwear and they do not belong under shorts. Fast, fit and secure men have no problem with this. If you don't have the balls to wear them (literally and figuratively), then don't. Stick with your baggy sweatpants.
You need to bang some heads together here. I agree. Just because some of you distance runners are small and skinny doesn't mean that you have to dress the part. Tights? Please!!! Try and macho up a bit.

I used to wear shorts over my tights, mainly in extra cold weather. I stopped when I realized that the fabrics rubbing together accelerated the wear of each garment. I'm always wearing spandex or wind briefs underneath the tights so never worried about the appearance of "my package."
newtking you are doing an excellent job of trying to troll this thread.

Unless you're just kicking it in tights, nobody is going to see your package anyway. That's why you wear black or maybe navy blue tights. Dark colors mean others can't see the outline of your package.
Sorry, but you guys must be very small. I've seen pictures of myself in just tights and compression shorts and not much is left to the imagination. But then, I AM Italian so many of you prolly just don't have that "problem".

I prefer to think running tights make me look "elfin". And what kind of fragile rep do you have that needs to be protected by the running community???
Just wear shorts. Jeez your legs don't get cold unless it's sub zero... I am pretty sure none of you have to deal with that type of cold.

Tights keep your muscles warm and improve circulation in cold weather. This helps prevent injuries.
Women should wear tights. They shouldn't wear shorts over the tights. It looks tacky. Women can also wear really tight jeans.
Men shouldn't wear tights. Men should wear tighter fitting running/soccer style pants. If you are racing track then half-tights are acceptable. There is no reason to run around in ultra spandex if you are a guy.
That goes for superman bicycle riders too. And it's not insecurity. Women don't show a package by wearing tights. Men do. It's that simple.

If you're not male, tights also make you look gay. Just sayin'.
IF YOUR FAST, WHO CARES WHAT THEY THINK. And plus the shorts serve no purpose besides concealment. Get some nike fundamental half tights, they= my favorite

There are lots of people who have to deal with that type of cold. Do you just assume that every other place on earth is just like the place you live?
If you wear a super short shirt or jacket it looks odd, in my opinion. But if you have some length to your upper body clothing it covers any insecurities you might have.
Tights without shorts, obviously. Also, your cape should be at least mid-thigh length.
Sub zero cold means below 0. Not below 32. Unless your from Canada, Russia or Alaska you are not running in temps below 0...
hey man i am a soph in hs and i dont do that!
After watching a bunch of flotrack videos, it looks like there are a lot pros that wear tights to warmup in any type of weather.

I'm not worried about my legs getting cold, they don't throb with pain like other places.
At least a poster who man's up and calls me out.
