Both him and Jenny Simpson will start 2012 indoor pro seasons at New Balance meet in Boston on Feb 4.
Unless he signs up for something else it will be Centros first meet as a pro.

Does this mean centro will be signing with New Balance? Also, what do you think his appearance fee is? My guess is the bronze medal is getting him a decent amount of cash.
What event?
who is his sponsor. I tried to watch the flotrak club xc race, but couldn't tell.
I don't believe he has signed yet. I wondering as well if this means he is signing with New Balance. I wonder where he's going to end up training-wise.
Well, his sister is on Team NB. And their dad coaches her. So, there's that.

There was a thread recently about Centro potentially joining the Julie Benson group(with Simpson) in Colorado- this announcement certainly seems to appear to give some credence to this idea.
I'm surprised as I fully expected him to be snapped up by Nike as soon as he went pro. I also could think of a about a half dozen more suitable coaches than Benson
From what I've been told he's planning on being in Eugene this spring...

Benson is the most recent coach to get a US runner to gold in the 1500, smart choice by Centro to not get caught up in hype and instead focus on results.
Juli Benson is very calculating; always around when a potential stud is available and parlays it into a getting paid by shoe compant arrangement.
Is this legal as a college coach? Does Air Force ever ask if you can coach a World Champion, how come you can't make Nationals or score some conference points?

right, because so many US mid d athletes won medals in Daegu
It seems NB is willing to pay money for decent looking runners -
Vessey, Simpson, Centro (if true) - all clean cut, good looking people.
And their ads seem to show the athletes more than nike does.
probably a good marketing choice.

I wonder why James Li at Arizona isn't asked the same. Seems like he can coach low mileage Kenyan studs but the development of the rest of his team is piss poor.
Wouldn't staying with the same coaches in Eugene amount to focusing on results? Changing coaches this close to the Olympics does not seem wise, does it? And staying in Eugene means that he has one 3:30 training partner.

Well yeah. Honestly I'd be really surprised if he didn't end up in Eugene. But the other guy is acting like there are a ton of great coaches out there better than Julie and honestly from a results side that just isn't true. It is not a bad move at all.
I agree. Eugene has worked well for Centro and one would assume he has already done much of his training with Wheating.
Why would he not stay in Eugene and stay with the same coach. I like that he has ran xc this year (well im assuming he trained a bit for it because he ran club xc and a 10k turkey trot) I think its important for him to do the same exact thing he did last year to ensure a spot in the final in london
He should go train with Ron Worhurst's group in Ann Arbor.

Yes, because so many people go to Air Force to be apart of their cross country teams......
sticking with a cross country season shows that he is taking good advice. dropping xc is one of the typical mistakes of new middle distance pros. steve scott always ran a bunch of 10k's and other overdistance races.
