Hi,
I’m new here and just recently registered. I have a few questions about collegiate xc & track running for women. The questions that I am going to ask have at some point most likely been addressed here and I apologize in advance for asking again.
I would like to have an idea of what times a girl would need to be running for the 5K in XC, 800, 1600 and 3000/3200 in track to seriously consider running at a competitive level in college. I would like answers for DI, II, and III as well as NAIA if at all possible. I have had a daughter go through the recruiting process for soccer and am much more familiar with that sport than I am track and XC. I know that money for XC & track is pretty hard to come by so I don’t have high expectations for a scholarship and have stressed to my daughter that the greatest majority (or all) of her money will most likely come from academics. I have a niece that runs for a good DIII program and I know that athletic money is not given at the DIII level but she did get academic money based on the assumption she was running XC & track. So, while it can’t be called athletic money, it a sense it is athletic money.
Thanks in advance
