Basically like running through wet cement, slower than shit.
I fell last year in the first half mile and ended up getting stitches.

Don't forget the hills. That hill during the last mile will crush your soul.
Always soggy, slow, and so many stupid ass hills.

Spot on.
They are messing with you. Flat and fast, especially if the weather is dry.

At least the course is wide all the way around so it's easy to pass (even in large packs) before you hit the hill. Going to be a GREAT nationals course.
Don't believe the morons who posted that it is slow.
The Louisville course is fast, mostly flat, and is an accurate 8K. There is a ditch about 400m in where you have to watch your footing (probably where the dude above fell and had to have stitches as a consequence).
The only challenging hill is at around 6.5-6.6K (as I recall) and it is only a challenge due to the timing of it rather than the length/gradient. It is about a 50-60m short sharp hill.
The finish kinda sneaks up on you. You'd better be kicking for home when you hear the finish line rather than when you see it!
NCAA Div.I College Coach who has been with his team to this meet 5/6 times.

What the hell does that mean?

This. AS good as a description as you will get. Once you turn left there is a 1000m straight shot to the finish. So remember, when you turn left on a 90 degree turn towards the end, start rolling. 1000m left
The course is very fast, and is a pretty good course as far as utilization of the park space is concerned. You should be in for a good pr.

I broke it down into smaller chunks so you can understand. I would draw pictures using crayons but LR isn't that advanced.

Not that hard.
