Wheating's hamstring was obviously serious. That simply wasn't the Wheating we know. He looked worst than at USATF.

This is saying a lot because he looked pretty bad at USATF's.

Knowing his injury he should have bagged it , focused on rehab , caught the last meets of the outdoor year. Given the advice he is getting this kid wont last long.

Wejo, honestly would you stop belittling people (especially anyone from Oregon). Be disappointed in the performance, that's fine, but don't tell me he quit. I watched the video and watched him push extremely hard all the way through the line. He didn't have it that day. Does he deserve to get slandered and labeled as a quitter for it? No. I expect this kind of commentary from visitors of the site, but not from the founder of it.

Wheating has not shown that he is in good form this year at all. I am worried that the more "pro" training isn't working for him. He looks really slim compared to last year. Perhaps he needs more of an 800ish body to be in top form. It is not uncommon for 800/1500 guys to benefit most from lower mileage than letsrunners are used to.

I thought he used terrible strategy at USATFs. The fitness looked like it was there but not the kick. It was kind of confirmed when he ran a very respectable 3:34 at Paris, beating Centro. I'm thinking he basically reinjured his hamstring before Monaco and had been sitting all the weeks before Worlds. He looked worn out in this race even before the final stretch and his attempt at a kick was hopeless.

Wheating needs to grow a pair. Excuses are a dime a dozen.

Get in there and compete like a champion, or go home.
