Here's an article from the Chicago Tribune:
Similar to turf toe.
Weird statement from Clyde Hart (Jeremy's coach) in the article, "It is my understanding Jeremy Wariner has ended his season early because of a foot injury."
now all the black's are going to take top3 NOT FEAR...
Looks like Merritt's chances just got extenzeded.

:) I see what you did there
The fact that someone who has dominated the event forever and only lost to a drug cheat at the olympics gets hurt and all people have to report on is that he hasn't been running 44s and 43s lately....
shitty, the man has always been solid for the medal stand.
From my post of June 29, over a month ago:
"For now, Wariner is done.
You can see it in his eyes and in his body language, just like Gay in his prelim.
If I'm a shark, I'm smelling blood in the water.
I'm not saying he is done forever--but right now, he's out of it. Something's not right, and he knows it. He PROJECTS it."

Right again.
However, I don't necessarily believe the reason given.
There's more to it, something deeper, something endocrine, or nutritional, or hormonal...maybe mitochondriosis, maybe aging, whatever.
He needs serious therapy.
What if the guy who won USAs goes high 43 and medals at worlds?! A new american hero would be crowned surely. Just please God, do not extenze your grace to that cheat that is Merritt.
Sprint Geezer, let me first say that I still think you're annoying.
But good call, you obviously have great sprinting insight. I'm not being sarcastic.
I think you and Moe's Tavern are on to something. (There was a similar post about some comments he made.) This is why I love LR because men like him, you, Malmo and others bring a seasoned knowledge base to our sport.
Asante.
I must say things have gone so well for him since he fired his coach years ago.
It's not exactly been a secret that Wariner has had turf toe or something like it for much of the year.
Letsrun jerks are letsrun jerks, but I figure Jeremy deserves a fair amount of credit for running (and doing the training to run) 44.88 with that condition.
If only some others like Rupp and Solinsky were as tough.
Yes, of course he deserves huge credit.
He has a huge heart and huge 'nads. I wish I could run 44.88 when down...
I still think there's more to it than turf toe...mono maybe? Anemia? Something's not right.
Seriously, I hope he's OK and it's not something serious.

Maybe he needs drugs like Merritt. After all, athletes on roids take DHEA to counter the lethargy, drop in libido, aches that come from using said roids. Which is what Merritt was doing. Look at him in '05. Then look at him after that when he started to really 'improve'. LOL But he be black n shit, so you'll be scared to call it as it is. LOL for REAL.

Since when have Letsrun posters not accused black people of doping?
It looks like it isn't exactly turf toe (one of his inside toes rather than the big one) which is why maybe he has been able to perform. But I've seen cases of turf toe where the athlete can barely run at all. It can be REALLY bad.
Hope he takes the time he needs to rest, doesn't rush back (Clyde I think is a big advantage here) and is ready for 2012.
Geezer -with cool shades out maybe you can come out of retirement . Satch
Coach said it was "like" turf toe. Not turf toe. Possibly a FHL rupture, or a rupture of the distal portion of the plantar fascia. Those are the only things I can think of that'd actually be season-enders. Except for "I'm out of shape and don't want to be embarrassed," which IS a real possibility.
Was this injury affecting his recent performances or did this just crop up?
I think this is all a ploy.. I'm pretty sure Wariner just came down with a case of Vaginitis, where he pussed out because he is out of shape and saw that LeShawn Merritt was coming back.
I, for one, am glad that he's out.. the less international competitions he competes at and sobs like the sore loser that he is and makes a scene, the better our country looks.
