my best was junior year of HS (don't run in college) 1600 419.4 and 3200 9:24.6. Still my PRs to this day. Oh yeah, there was about 2-3hrs between races.
4.23/9.46
4:17 / 1:57
I only ran the 3200 for points at dual meets after already having run the 1600, 800 and sometimes 400. My HS best 2 mile was actually a 9:45 split at our Section Championship Cross Country Meet.
My fastest 1600M/3200M double in High School was 4:35 & 10:13. Didn't really need to run much faster than that since it was league championships and it was tactical. Never doubled the 1600M/3200M before that or since.
I did do a 1500M/5000M/400M triple in JC 4:06, 15:50, & 53 sec. anchor leg on 4X 400M 5 minutes after the 5000M.
Roc,
No 3200 for you?
4:41, 10:12, about 1 hour in between. I never have been particularly fast. That was the fastest 3200 I ever ran, and my fastest 1600 is only 5 seconds faster.
My best 3200/1600 double has been either 9:29/4:31 or 9:33/4:29.
back in high school i went 1:59 in sprint medely, 2:00 in 4x800 and then ran 3:17 in the 1200 for the distance medley, all with 1 hour 45 minutes. for 1600, 3200 i went 4:25 and then 9:56 with a 59 last lap of the 3200.
Two-day double
10:05 (win) /// 4:43 (2nd) and 4x800 R 2:06 (win)
Most painful weekend double was freshman year HS with a 3200, 1000m, mile, and 600 at three different meets in one weekend. Never had run a 3200 or a 600 or a 1000 before. Won the 1000m heat.

I'm from CT where we ran 5k on the track and 3200.
Same meet, events were 3 hours apart
15:48
9:42
Mine was 1600- 4:15
3200- 9:20
Same day double way back in '96 in VA.
3200m (9:19) follwed 2 hours later with 1600m (4:21) during my Senior year of High School.
I should have had better double than that. Three months earlier, at my only indoor meet of the year, I ran 3200m (9:29) followed by 1600m (4:20) winning both races by over 10 seconds.
Also ran 9:23/4:23 during season.
