Hello everyone,
I'm filling in for OMBTS again. I hope everyone here takes a moment to appreciate the fathers in our lives, whether our biological fathers or in my case, a grandfather who had that role in my childhood. Of course many of us are now fathers ourselves, and this is a nice day to spend time with our own families.
I ended up at 51 miles for the weeks, with two workouts: 6x800m with 300m recov, 2:40 ramping down to 2:33, and 10x300m with 200m recov, all at 50-51 secs. Neither workout seemed that stressful and are comparable to what I was running at this time last year. I'm still in the same boat as Spikes and probably others as far as wanting another few weeks to prepare for the WMA, but I'll make the best of it.
I thought I'd also throw out a congrats to my coworker and sometimes training partner Jim Derick for running 2:27 and change to win the Masters division of Grandma's marathon. Jim's a month shy of his 46th birthday. Another master coworker of ours, Alan Evans, finished 3rd in the M45 age group with a 2:43. I think this was either the 30th or 31st time Alan has run this marathon. It's certainly nice having these guys as role models and teammates!
Post 'em up!
