I've been running for about a year and I have a question about my mechanics. I am noticeably duck footed on my right side, meaning that my right foot turns slightly outward (lateral tibial torsion more properly). I estimate it's about 20-25 degrees compared to the normal of 0-15 degrees in adults.
My question is, is this detracting from my speed or ability at all? I have about 1400 miles of pain and injury free training and a first marathon under my belt and because of that my physician's instinct is to just leave it alone. However, if it could improve my times I would be willing to do some form correction drills or exercises.
