The Commentator on TV said that Lagat no longer trains twice a day. Anyone know if this true ? Would make sense after all the years running background he has. And no wisecracks about drugs from the usual morons please.

Probably because he's on drugs.
You know, ibuprofen for the occasional tightening of his braces.
No! No! No! No one who is good at running doesn't double! Any exception to this is just a liar or a freak or would be better if they did double! You are just asking because you want an excuse not to double because you aren't as macho as all of us!
I don't know if it's true but I know he only trains 6 days a week. He doesn't really count mileage over 5:30 pace, so recovery jogs may not be considered "training" in his book.

For a 12:50 5K guy, 5:30 pace is pretty much recovery pace.
There have been several other threads already on Lagat's particular schedule (singles, 6 days a week, 60-70 miles ect...) but in general for a lot of africans, 4-5 miles easy at 6AM and then a main workout at 10AM only counts as once a day, and they usually don't even count these morning miles toward there weekly total.
I think it was Filbert Bayi in the 70's who said "the morning run is as God intended and is not really considered training".

Awesome.
That is nonsense lagat should stop assuming athletics fans are fools.he is entitlted to stay quiet about his training but there is no need for him to lie.I know for instance that he trains with boaz Lalang and the latter trains twice a day, sometimes 3 times. So why is Lagat lying. No one is interested in cpying his program.people are just interested in knowing how many times in a day a champion such as lagat trains.
