Anyone else think that was just a bit too fast...
No. Sathre covered the first mile in 4:32, and held on for a long time before having enough left to kick it home.
Remember it's not a full 5 miles. If it were, his 23:44(ish) would be just under 24, which is still super fast, but on pace with what he was doing.
Give Sathre alot of credit.... went out like an idiot got caught broke away again and held on to win.
I had NCC at 5 and 15 and then three more between 35-45. It was thick in there so I might be a bit off, but it looked like a winner. Go NCC!

Don't forget that he looked like an idiot on his way to the finish. Seriously, how many times do you need to look back? And if it's that close that you need to look back, is all the arm raising and fist pumping really necessary? Total douche bag move.
Get pissed

Um...? 4:32 * 5 = 22:40, so about 22:30 for 8k. He ran 23:44. 23:44 - 22:30 = 1:14 slower than his first mile pace. So yes, he certainly went out too fast. He still won, but that doesn't make a 4:32 first mile smart.
Do we have results?

You should have seen him in the MIAC indoor 3k last year. Compared to that he was the classiest runner in the world today. I've never met someone not from St. Thomas who has had anything nice to say about him.

I'm not saying it is, someone said that the 'time was a little too fast' and I was pointing out that he went out like a bat out of hell then settled, but that first mile still made his overall time fast because he didn't falter that much.
Worked for him, so to hell with it. Didn't think he would be able to drop Berube after he was caught.
Was it smart? Well, he won.
