Well, figured I would jump in since I "qualified" for this thread recently and just completed my first week as a 50 year old.
Finished up Boston this year and been having a lot of fun just running to run and staying focused just enough to keep fit. And of course its summer here in the SE, so keeping it controlled! Hoping to catch some good advice to prolong this running thing for another 10, 20, ... years.
Very happy with this week of running. Got to jump in a race, spend a couple daily runs and long run with my wife for her ultra training.
M - 5 mi, 48 min + 4 x 100 @ 20 sec.
T - AM: 6 mi easy, 1 hour. PM: 7 mi, 2 x 200 @ 42 sec, 6 x 800 w/ 3 min easy jog rec (2:49,50,51,49,50,45), 3 x 200 @ 37 sec.
W - 7 mi, 58 min.
R - 7.5 mi, 1:04, w/ 4 x 20 sec accelerations + 4 x 100 @ 19 sec.
F - 9 mi, 90 min, w/ 2 x 100 @ 19 sec.
S - 8.5 mi, 10k race (or 6.5 mi race after missing a turn, ha), 38:44.
U - 21.5 mi easy.
