lucKY: I wish you the best on losing weight. That is so damn hard.
Amkelley: wow, you can really lay on the miles. Just planning a thon is encouraging.
Igy: Great on running every day.
Charlie: I envy your proximity to those great tracks and events.
Dhaaga: Seems like you are handling the slowdown better than most. The inevitability of it for all is most disturbing.
Allen1959: Hang in there on the knee. I recall you got yourself in great shape pretty fast, so no need to rush the knee. It’ll get better….when it’s ready.
Tue = 4 miles road with 8 X 1 min acceleration drills with 2 min jog interval, 1 mile warm down
Thr = 4 miles, medium, TM. No more super easy runs.
Sat = 4 miles road with 3rd in 6:46
Sun = 4 miles, medium, steep rocky trail, 600 feet climbing
A good week. Ran the same section of road as last Sat and knocked a full 10 seconds off the mile. Just felt zippier. The Tue acceleration drills seem to really help my turnover. I just feel more comfortable going a bit faster. I swear it’s like I forgot how to go fast.
2018 has been a really good year for me, didn’t miss a single workout and had zero virus’, illness' or injuries. Actually, I have not had a virus or cold since Dec 2016…..when I started IF…..could be a coincidence, but not likely considering I used get 2 or 3 colds a year all the time.
In 2019 I will be racing regularly. Looks like I’ll have my first two, Feb 9 and 16. No plans to change my miles or frequency. At some point my limited miles and workouts will have my fitness plateau out somewhere. Then I’ll need to make a decision on whether I want to change anything. As I’ve said several times before, if I could run more miles and not get injured I’d sure as heck do it. But, having tried a number of different times and ways with the exact same injury outcome, I can only beat my head against the wall so long.
Happy New Year Everyone!
