I paid my way in.I ran a 2:20 marathon a few years ago.I did not try to get a comp# or anything.On the paper when it asked how fast you have run i said 2:20.I watched the race on youtube and it looks like everyone starts together.I saw slow runners in the 2nd row.So i thought it was no big deal.Today someone told me its a 25 feet start for the elite runners.On the tape everyone looks like they are at the start.The front row looked like the only row full of kenyans.The second row at there backs was joe runner.Can someone help me out who has run it before.

I hope this is a troll. In the event it's not, I'd suggest getting the f**k over yourself. Oh no, the 2:20 marathoner might not have sufficient room at the start of Grandma's Marathon! Hopefully that big lug 3:00 marathoner that snuck up a little too far doesn't accidentally brush up against you and bruise your arm as the gun goes off.

I've run it before, but not sure what kind of help you want. You paid your own way in. Great, you should have. You didn't ask for any comps. Great, you shouldn't have. At the start you stand as far forward as the race officials allow you to as a 2:20 marathoner. It is possible you might have to walk through several rows of runners to assume your spot on the front row, hopefully that wont be too big an inconvenience. When they fire their gun in the air you start running and leave everybody except the Kenyans behind. Not sure what other questions you could have, but if you can be more specific I'd be happy to answer them.

cool off it said any one under 2 28 get a #. I just was asking how the start goes. Groups so on .Can someone tell me with out being funny.

Just before the start they pull the rope out and you can snuggle up with the low bib numbers.
