So this weekend's track meet I and my teammate ran the 5000 which had been split up into two heats, the fast heat later in the day at 5 and slow first thing in the day at 11. We were on the top of the slow heat and got 3rd and 5th and both had 10 second Pr's for the day. When the fast heat started to run a lightening storm was developing and 7 minutes in or so they cancel the race, everyone goes home early. To get into our conference meet you need to be in the top 20 and I checked to see the list this morning only to find my time hadn't changed and they had not counted the 5k results for anyone that day.
The season is short at our college and I only have 3 more meet's to run, one of which will be a 10k week. The day I ran was perfect weather and I live in a particularly windy state. The changes of weather as good as that are slim to none.
Has anyone had a similar situation? Is there a rule that allows this? Should I say anything?
