Sounds like you're focused on Nike. I don't know if you run in their trainers or have some bias toward them, but I think there are lots of better options out there. Check out the Saucony A4 (my preference), Brooks T7 or Green Silence, or Mizuno Wave Universe if you want really minimal. The Asics Piranha also gets props from people who run in them. Depends how light you want to go.
The Piranhas are very cushioned for their weight. That's their only flaw in my book, but if that's what you want they are a great shoe. I ran my only marathon in them.
I've now managed over 1500 miles in a pair of them too. Most lightweight shoes get worn out in the uppers for me - they "drift" over to the inside. But the construction of the Piranhas is different and the uppers hold in place well. Soles can be resoled, but when the upper goes over, my shoes get binned.
